He was a founding and Life Member of the Flyfishers Club of Tasmania and also an honoury Life Member of the Victorian Fly Fishers Association. Don chaired the Combined Anglers Association of Tasmania during its existence in the ’70s. In his later years, Don served on the Tasmanian Angling Hall of Fame and his historical knowledge was of immense value.
