Lake Crescent Jetty Completed
Anglers Alliance is pleased to advise that the proposed jetty at the Lake Crescent boat ramp which AAT helped fund has now been completed.
This project was managed by Marine and Safety Tasmania (MAST) and mostly funded through their small projects infrastructure fund. Collaborative support and funding was also provided by Inland Fisheries Service (IFS) and the Central Highlands Council and AAT.
IFS advises that the lake level is currently low due to reduced recent rainfall and inflows, and due to being towards the end of the irrigation season. There is also aware that there is significant silt build up on the bottom of the canal that leads to the lake. Under these current conditions, navigation of the canal into the lake by boat is extremely challenging and not advisable.
The jetty will be of great assistance to boating anglers for launching and retrieval when more normal lake conditions return.
